Shipping

Marine Depot ships orders Australia-wide where courier, freight and product restrictions allow. Shipping options, freight charges and delivery availability depend on the delivery location, product size, product weight, item type, stock location and carrier availability.

At this stage, Marine Depot does not offer international shipping or customer pickups.

Free Shipping

Free shipping is available on eligible orders over $499 and up to 25kg, delivered to selected metro areas only, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Free shipping does not apply to all products or all locations. Certain heavy, bulky, oversized, dangerous goods, palletised, long-length or difficult-to-ship items may be excluded from free shipping, even where the order value is over $499.

Remote, regional, island, rural and limited-service delivery areas may incur additional freight charges. If additional freight charges apply, Marine Depot will contact you before the order is shipped.

Heavy, Bulky, Oversized or Restricted Items

Some products have shipping limitations due to their size, weight, shape, packaging requirements, dangerous goods classification, carrier restrictions or delivery location.

Heavy, bulky or restricted items may include, but are not limited to:

  • Drums and long lengths of chain

  • Dangerous goods

  • Large bales of rope

  • Palletised anchors

  • Large or palletised seats

  • Leaning posts

  • T-Tops

  • Aerials and outriggers

  • Bulk PFDs

  • Rigid lifebuoys and holders

  • Large consoles

  • Large anchors

  • Fuel tanks

  • Rope, chain and other oversized marine products

Certain heavy or bulky products may not be able to be delivered to PO Boxes, islands, remote locations, regional areas, farms, mining camps or areas with limited courier access.

If your order includes a product that cannot be delivered to your address, or requires additional freight, Marine Depot may contact you to arrange one of the following:

  • Payment of additional freight charges

  • Delivery to an alternative address

  • Delivery to a suitable freight depot

  • Substitution with a more suitable product, where available

  • Cancellation and refund of the affected item or order

Island, Remote and Limited-Service Locations

Large, bulky, heavy or restricted items generally cannot be shipped to island locations or certain remote areas.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Norfolk Island, 2899

  • Thursday Island, 4875

  • Christmas Island, 6798

  • Cocos Islands, 6799

  • Northern Territory remote areas

  • Western Australia remote or regional areas

  • Tasmania remote or regional areas

  • Far North Queensland

  • Farms, stations, mining camps, small towns and other limited-access locations

Customers in remote, regional, island or limited-service areas may be required to collect their order from the nearest available freight depot. Door-to-door delivery cannot be guaranteed for all locations.

PO Boxes

Large, bulky, heavy or courier-delivered items cannot be delivered to PO Boxes.

Please provide a physical street address for delivery. Where possible, provide a business address or an address where someone is available during business hours.

Dispatch Times

Marine Depot aims to dispatch most orders within 2–5 working days after receiving the order.

Some products may take longer to dispatch, especially where the item is:

  • Warehoused interstate

  • Supplied directly by a supplier

  • A special-order or custom-order item

  • Temporarily awaiting stock

  • Heavy, bulky, oversized or palletised

  • Subject to dangerous goods handling requirements

If there is a stock availability issue or dispatch delay with your order, Marine Depot will contact you with an update.

Delivery Timeframes

Delivery times vary depending on your location, the carrier, the product type, stock location and freight network conditions.

As a general guide:

  • Metro areas are often delivered within 2–5 working days after dispatch.

  • Regional and remote areas may take longer.

  • Heavy, bulky, oversized, palletised or supplier-shipped items may take longer.

  • Delivery delays may occur during peak periods, sale periods, public holidays, severe weather events, courier delays, supplier delays or other circumstances outside our control.

We recommend allowing at least 7–10 working days for delivery where possible.

If you require an item by a specific date, please contact Marine Depot before placing your order. While we will do our best to assist, delivery by a specific date cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.

Couriers and Freight Providers

Marine Depot uses a range of carriers depending on the product, delivery location, warehouse location and freight requirements.

Carriers may include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct Freight Express

  • StarTrack Express

  • Toll

  • Couriers Please

  • Australia Post

  • Aramex

  • Other specialist freight providers where required

Marine Depot will select the most suitable carrier at its discretion.

Authority to Leave and Delivery Attempts

Unless otherwise arranged, orders may be shipped with Authority to Leave where the carrier permits this. This means the courier may leave the parcel at the delivery address if they consider it safe to do so.

Please provide a delivery address where someone is available during normal business hours, or where the parcel can be safely left. Business addresses are recommended where possible.

Courier and freight services generally operate during weekdays and normal business hours only. Deliveries are not made on weekends, public holidays or after business hours.

Most courier charges allow for one delivery attempt only. If delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect address, unsafe location, no access, refusal of delivery, missed delivery, or failure to collect from a depot, additional charges may apply.

If an order is returned to Marine Depot because it could not be delivered, the customer may be required to pay additional freight charges before the order is resent.

Tracking

All orders are traceable where tracking is provided by the carrier. Once your order has been dispatched, tracking details will generally be provided by email or made available through the carrier.

Tracking updates may take time to appear after dispatch, depending on the carrier.

Stock Availability and Supplier Delays

Some products are held in interstate warehouses or supplied directly by suppliers. Availability, dispatch and delivery timeframes may be affected by supplier stock levels, warehouse processing times, courier capacity and freight network delays.

If an item in your order is unavailable, delayed or requires special handling, Marine Depot will contact you with an update.

Important Delivery Notes

Please ensure your delivery details are correct at checkout. Marine Depot is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, return-to-sender costs or additional freight charges caused by incorrect, incomplete or unsuitable delivery information.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may change due to circumstances outside Marine Depot’s control, including supplier stock levels, courier delays, freight disruptions, weather events, public holidays, peak periods, access restrictions or remote delivery limitations.
