Returns
Returns
Marine Depot accepts returns in certain circumstances, depending on the reason for return, the product type, the product condition, and any rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
This Returns Policy applies to change of mind returns, incorrect item purchases, exchanges and general return requests. If your item is faulty, damaged, defective, not as described, or not performing as expected, please refer to our . Warranty, Fault Claims & Australian Consumer Law page for details
Nothing in this Returns Policy limits, replaces or excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Change of Mind or Incorrect Item Purchased
If you have purchased the wrong item or have changed your mind, Marine Depot may accept the item back for a refund, credit or exchange within 14 days of the purchase date, provided the item is eligible for return and meets our return condition requirements.
Change of mind and incorrect item returns must be approved by Marine Depot before the item is sent back. Please contact us first so we can confirm whether the item is eligible and provide return instructions.
For approved change of mind or incorrect item returns:
-
The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
-
Original freight charges are not refundable, unless the return is due to an error by Marine Depot.
-
A standard 20% restocking fee applies to returned products.
-
The item must be unopened, unused, in original packaging, and in sellable condition.
-
All manuals, accessories, labels, tags, parts, fittings, packaging inserts and included materials must be returned with the product.
If an item is returned without approval, is used, opened, damaged, incomplete, missing packaging, or otherwise not in sellable condition, the return may be refused. In that case, the customer may be responsible for the cost of returning the item back to them.

Damaged, Incorrect or Missing Items
If you receive an incorrect item, missing item, or an item damaged in transit, please contact Marine Depot as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours of delivery. Prompt notification helps us investigate with the courier, supplier or warehouse.
We may require photos of the item, packaging, shipping label, damage, incorrect product, missing parts, or other supporting evidence so we can investigate and resolve the issue.
If the return is due to an error by Marine Depot, or the item was damaged in transit before delivery, we will advise the next steps and may provide a return consignment note where required.
Faulty Products, Warranty Claims & Consumer Guarantees
If your product is faulty, defective, not working as expected, or appears to have failed during use, the matter will be assessed under the applicable manufacturer/distributor warranty and any rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
Manufacturer and distributor warranties are provided in addition to any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. They do not limit, replace or exclude any consumer guarantees that apply.
A product may need to be returned for inspection, testing, repair or supplier/manufacturer assessment before a remedy can be confirmed. Depending on the product and issue, we may request photos, videos, proof of purchase, serial numbers, batch numbers, product labels, installation details, usage details, maintenance information, or other evidence.
Where a valid warranty or consumer guarantee claim is approved, the product may be repaired, replaced, credited or refunded depending on the circumstances.
A warranty, fault or consumer guarantee claim may not be accepted where the issue is caused by misuse, incorrect installation, accident, impact, modification, unauthorised repairs, negligence, lack of maintenance, normal wear and tear, unsuitable application, environmental exposure outside product specifications, chemical damage, incorrect storage, commercial or high-impact use outside the manufacturer’s terms, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
Return Shipping
For change of mind, incorrect item purchased, exchange or other customer-requested returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
For approved warranty, fault or consumer guarantee assessments, Marine Depot will advise the return process. In many cases, we may provide a return consignment note. If a customer is required to pay return freight for a valid warranty or consumer guarantee claim, reasonable return shipping costs may be refunded where required.
Marine Depot is not liable for inbound returns that are lost in transit where the customer arranges their own return shipping. We recommend using a tracked service and keeping proof of lodgement.
Refunds
Approved refunds will generally be processed back to the original payment method used for the purchase, including credit card, PayPal, Zip or Afterpay where applicable.
Refund timing may depend on the payment provider, bank or finance provider.
For approved change of mind or incorrect item returns, original freight charges are not refundable unless the return is due to an error by Marine Depot.
For approved warranty, fault or consumer guarantee claims, original standard shipping charges may also be refunded where required by law.
Before Returning an Item
Please contact Marine Depot before returning any item. This allows us to confirm eligibility, provide return instructions, issue any required return authorisation, and advise whether the item should be returned to Marine Depot, the supplier, distributor or another nominated location.
