Boat hardware should be chosen by application, material, mounting surface and load. A deck fitting used outside needs different checks from a cabin latch or a drain fitting. For exposed fittings, compare the relevant deck hardware range. For inside panels, lockers and doors, use cabin hardware to narrow the choice.
Hardware selection often involves several related product areas. If the job is about water movement or cockpit drainage, compare bungs and drains. For access and boarding, use ladders and steps. For airflow, compare boat ventilation before choosing vents or related fittings.
If you are not sure where a job fits, start with the location and the problem rather than a part name. A worn fitting on an open deck usually points to deck hardware, while a sticking door, drawer or hatch inside the boat usually points to cabin hardware. Jobs involving water leaving the boat, such as a transom or cockpit drain, sit under bungs and drains, and anything about getting on, off or around the boat safely belongs with ladders and steps or ventilation.
Boat hardware can include deck fittings, cabin fittings, bungs, drains, ladders, ventilation parts and other practical boat fittings.
Measure the existing part, check material, mounting holes, fastener access and the job the fitting performs.
Choose by exposure, load, corrosion requirements and the product's intended use.
